Limerick #18: There was an Old Man who loved to drink beer

There was an Old Man who loved to drink beer,

And he kept kegs and kegs of it in his cellar,

But a mouse became an intemperate dweller,

So he made the thirsty mouse disappear,

This Old Man who loved to drink beer.

There once was a Young Lady from Palestine

Who set her heart on exploring outer space,

So she kept little rocket ships every place,

Limerick #16: There once was a Young Man from Prague

There once was a Young Man from Prague

Who didn’t care a tinker’s damn for pasta,

Or to read books by Rilke or Kafka,

But he liked to imbibe good grog

When he was walking in the fog.

Super Bowl Limerick #1: I knew this beautiful Young Lady from Baltimore

I knew this beautiful Young Lady from Baltimore,

And she was a fine maven

Who kept a gloomy raven

That yearned for a paramour,

But he only had this Young Lady from Baltimore.

VACATION

I’ll buy blue, blue diamonds

And red, red rubies.

I will cover my spaceship with them.

I will fly around this universe,

And search for more blue, blue diamonds,

And more red, red rubies.

When I think I’m done

I’ll find more,

And cover this universe

With blue, blue diamonds

 And red, red rubies.

I’ll cover more universes

With blue, blue diamonds

And red, red rubies

Until I die.

Limerick #13

Limerick #13: There was a Young Lady from Philadelphia

[Written while listening to Bob Dylan’s acoustic version of Desolation Row]

There was a Young Lady from Philadelphia,

Who betimes looked into rivers,

And thought about unkind givers;

This young maiden’s name was Ophelia,

And she hailed from Philadelphia.
