There are no seasons here
Yes, you may consider flowers
Newly bloomed
Or strange birds
Seasons but truly there are
No seasons on this island
There is plenty of heat
And a lot of rain.
I left a place with rocky mountains
And I miss them now.
For a long time I yearned
To see the ocean again. I had seen the ocean
Once on the East coast
At a place called Revere Beach---
For one hour. Once on the West Coast
In Golden Gate Park---For one sunset.
The oceans live in our blood
But pine forests, rivers and mountains
Live within my heart.
