My first poem to you

My first poem to you
Is about tossing and turning
Forever wanting your body holding my body.

Tonight is morning and I cannot sleep.
Your mind is in my mind.
Do you feel the swelling of my tears in eyes
That want to be with your eyes?
And I toss and turn.
I want you to hold me to hold you,
To smother you (but gently) with my love and
Kisses and start over again.

I wish I were always within your arms.
Maybe we can become turtles.
Do turtles have to go to work?
We would just be with each other
All the time living in our shells
But in love
Loving each other slowly, intensely.
Now.

ONE SEES EACH DAY TO EACH DECADE

One sees each day

To each decade

Centuries fade

Skeletons

And car heaps.

One sees each day

To each decade

Sorrow linger

Long after guns

And cannons rust

Blood and human

dust.

In the next pinpoint

Of time we enjoy

Let us remain

Where moss is green

Tiny roots

Of flowers

Without fear

And torment.
